I’ve been a big fan of paid live trainings since I did my first one in November 2017.

But what I didn’t understand when I started doing them was just how powerful and effective they are for creating courses, group programs and even that elusive ‘passive’ income.

In December 2019 I turned a paid live training (Make a Flash For It!) into a course and ran a ‘live round’ for the first time. Oh wow. Talk about supercharging my students’ results (and therefore the value of the training)! 🤩🤩🤩 Why hadn’t I done this sooner?!

This is a full month-by-month breakdown of two of my courses that started their lives as 90-120 min paid live trainings.

Couple of notes before we jump in:

  • Please note that most quoted prices have since gone up! “Now is always the best time to buy!” 😉
  • For each course I’ve only included income that I consider to be as a direct result of the original training i.e. if I hadn’t have done the original training, I wouldn’t have had that thing to sell/offer.
  • The Fast Guide to Launching was also included in a bundle of 6 of my paid live trainings. Income from that hasn’t been included, but it’s certainly $1000s over the times I’ve sold it.
  • Sometimes I sell/offer ‘credit’, and many people have ‘bought’ these trainings/courses with that credit. That’s not included in the quoted income.
  • I’ve only listed income from these trainings/courses. Sometimes I’ll give clients free access, or I’ll offer the courses as affiliate bonuses (e.g my TRIBE bonus).

Oh, and lastly, I really, really want to emphasise how little time, effort and energy went into either of these trainings/courses. I initially pre-sold them with a couple of simple emails and a crappy checkout-only brief sales page. Creating a 90-120 min training to be delivered live only takes a couple of days. And then it only takes a couple of days to chop that up into a self-study course. I’ve made other courses the ‘traditional’ way and it’s taken weeks.

The Fast Guide to Launching

January 2018 🚀

Original price was $47 in advance of the live training, and $97 for the recording afterwards.

Order bump was my first paid live training, The Lazy Guide to Affiliate Marketing for $47 (usually $97).

I bought a pack of sloth graphics off Creative Market and spent hours getting this little guy onto the rocket! 😂

During the original live training of The Fast Guide to Launching, I made an offer that if they launched something within the next 3 weeks, I’d promote it to my full list. 6 people took me up on this offer.

As I was promoting my students’ launches, I also did a flash sale on The Fast Guide to Launching recording for $47. The order bump was another paid live training I’d done the week prior, The Easy Guide to Courses and Group Things for $47 (usually $97).

I also launched a new 1:1 offer, Fast Launching Rocket Fuel. This was a short-lived offer which included 3 weeks unlimited Voxer support for $497 (which I later raised to $750).

I had the original recordings of both trainings transcribed and made a text based course out of them. I added some additional resources such as a worksheet and tech tutorials.

This was a big month for The Fast Guide to Launching! I finally chopped up the 2 hour recording into lessons (audio only) and added some additional content. I completely rebranded and increased the full price to $297 and the offer price to $197. I ran a live webinar called How to Create and Sell Something Before You’re Ready, and pitched the 2.0 version of the course with a 3 week live round. The live round consisted of the self-study course, a popup Facebook group and 3 x Day of Voxer Office Hours.

And thennnn I turned it all into an evergreen webinar funnel. Busy month! 😅
