Hire great people

Without the stress, wasted money, or “nevermind, I’ll just do it myself” moments.

Hiring is supposed to make your life easier. Yet somehow, it always ends up being an absolute headache.

But hiring isn’t the problem. It’s how you hire.

Hire Standards sets you up with a proven, repeatable hiring process to find and hire contractors who take full ownership of their role — each and every time.

It’s time for some support. (For real this time 😅)

Maybe you’ve hired before… aaand it didn’t go so great, to put it mildly.

Or maybe you’ve heard enough hiring horror stories to make you seriously hesitant to bring anyone on beyond a one-time project.

Either way, you’re stuck wondering:

What if I spend all my time managing, so my life actually gets harder, not easier?

What if I waste time and money on someone who just doesn’t "get it"?

What if I have to sift through 100+ referrals just to find one decent person? (And those are the ones who followed the instructions to comment and not PM you 😉)

What if I make the wrong choice and end up having to redo everything myself?!

You want — no, need — support in your business. But the last thing you need is more stress, second-guessing, or extra work on your plate.

And that’s exactly why I created Hire Standards.

Hire Standards is a complete hiring process for online business owners who:

✔ Need specialist hires — think copywriters, gold nugget miners*, or assistant coaches — who fill a specific need in their business

✔ Want contractors who take full ownership — people who run with their role, get things done, and don’t need you to spell out every little step

Want to instantly spot the right hires, without spending hours reviewing applications

Want support that sticks around and really gets to know your business, so you’re not stuck in an endless cycle of rehiring and retraining

*Yes! You can make up a perfect role and find a dreamy person to fill it! I successfully hired for a Gold Nugget Miner.

This isn’t about "building a team." At least, not in the typical sense.

It’s about hiring the right people, in the right roles, in the right way — so they can do what they do best, and you can stay focused on what you do best.

Every time I followed this hiring system exactly, I made great hires ❤️

From my copy coaches to my systems & tech coach, my copywriter to my ‘gold nugget miner’ — I’ve used this process over and over again to get the exact support I need.

On the flipside, every time I skipped steps… those hires didn’t work out.

Because hiring isn’t just about popping up a Facebook post, waiting for referrals, and hoping you find "someone good".

It’s about knowing exactly what you need, setting the right expectations, and making sure they can actually do the job (the way you want it done) before you bring them on officially.

And that’s exactly why I’ve created Hire Standards.

And I’m not the only one 👀

Here’s what others have had to say about following my process:

Josh knew exactly what to ask, hired the right person, and is making more money doing what he does best

"Hiring a new team member was a significant investment for my business. Lizzy's recommendations, personal experience, detailed step-by-step instructions and templates helped me grow my business without stressing out. I knew the exact application questions to ask and how to structure the paid test project to ensure I hired the right person. I've been working with my new copywriter for over 6 months, and it has helped me focus on my zone of genius and make more money!

By the way, one of the finalists I didn't end up hiring told me "this was such a nice application process. You were clear about what you needed, you gave thoughtful feedback, and you let me know about your decision quickly."

I don’t hire in a typical way.

This isn’t a corporate hiring course. It’s not about scaling to a huge team or delegating your way out of your business so you can spend all your time sitting on the beach. 🏖️

It’s for online business owners who want to stay involved in their business while bringing on support that:

1️⃣ Makes your life easier, without turning you into a manager

2️⃣ Could be replaced if needed, without your entire business falling apart

So before we continue, here’s what you need to know about my approach to hiring/teams.

I DON’T have…

A project management system like Asana, Trello, or ClickUp. Everyone owns their role and just gets on with it.

❌ An OBM or COO overseeing operations, because I don’t want middle managers adding complexity to my business.

❌ A full-time team/employees. My contractors work a few hours a month in highly specific, well-defined roles.

❌ Endless team meetings or check-ins. No "Monday huddles" or forced Zooms. Just work getting done.

❌ Someone running my marketing. I still write my own emails*, create my own offers, and make my own decisions.

❌ A business that runs without me. That’s not the goal. I like doing the core things in my business. I just don’t want to be bogged down by tasks that someone else could handle better.

(If you have or want any of those things, that’s okay. I just really, really need you to understand that I don’t run my business the way most people do at this level of revenue/students/etc.)

*Full transparency: Occasionally my copywriter writes a few of the emails during launches/promos.

But I DO have...

✅ A small-but-mighty team of specialists — people who handle specific roles with zero micromanagement.

✅ A hiring system that ensures every new contractor is a great fit from Day 1.

✅ A business that stays lean, efficient, and completely under my control — while still having the support I need.

And that’s what Hire Standards will help you build, too.

We’ll cover things like…

📋

Make sure every hire is actually helping your business — not just creating more work for you

Setting Pay & Expectations

Why stating pay upfront is non-negotiable (and what happens when you don’t)

How to avoid the "flood of unqualified applicants" problem

Where to post your job to attract serious applicants (not just people applying to anything they see)

The exact test project setup I use to confirm skill, fit, and initiative
How to structure test projects so they reflect real work — not just hypothetical tasks
Why this step alone will eliminate 90% of bad hires before they even happen

Oh btw, hi! I’m Lizzy 👋

I’m a multi-offer online business strategist and — as I’ve already sort of explained — I’ve built a lean, profitable business that supports me where I actually need it, while staying hands-on in the parts I love. (Which, honestly, is 95% of my business.)

I created Hire Standards because I know how frustrating it is to waste time, money, and energy on hires that don’t work out. I’ve been there (again and again 😅).

But every time I followed the process I teach in this course? I ended up with contractors who are a great-fit, ridiculously good at what they do, and completely self-sufficient.

This means I get to move fast, experiment, and create all the things I want, while knowing I have the right people in my corner to help execute my ideas.

Now, I’m giving you that same system — so you, too, can hire with confidence and finally get the support you need (without the headaches).

Frequently Asked Questions

If I start hiring, won’t I end up relying on my team?

Not if you do it using the method I teach in Hire Standards. I’ve set up my business so that if my "team" disappeared tomorrow, my business would still be fine. This isn’t about building a team that runs everything for you. It’s about hiring the right support who make your life easier, not hires who make you dependent on them. Plus the hiring process is quick and repeatable, making any individual person replaceable.

How do I know if I’m actually ready to hire?

If you’re stretched thin, putting things off because you don’t have time, or doing tasks that really don’t need to be done by you (or that you hate)… it’s probably time. In Hire Standards, I’ll help you figure out exactly when hiring makes sense and how to bring someone on without overcomplicating your business — especially for more specialist roles like copywriters, tech help, or assistant coaches.

👉 If you’re just starting out or thinking of hiring a generalist VA for a bit of everything, check out the optional add-on — it's my semi-retired course on hiring and working with a VA, and it’s still packed with gold.

I’ve made bad hires before. How do I know this will work for me?

Because I’ve made bad hires too (😅) and every single time, it was because I didn’t follow this process. Hire Standards gives you a step-by-step system that actually works — one that filters out the wrong people before you waste time, money, or energy on them. And once you have this process, you can use it again and again whenever you need to hire.

But what if I don’t want to spend forever reviewing applications…

Same. 😅 That’s why I built my hiring process to do most of the filtering for me. In Hire Standards, I’ll show you exactly how to weed out bad fits fast so you only spend time on the best candidates. No endless résumés, no unnecessary back-and-forth, just a simple, efficient way to find the right person without the hiring headache. (You will still have to spend a little time going through applications, but you'll have the exact info you need to make decisions quickly)

I've got another question.
