What if I don’t have any clients/students yet?

This course is absolutely not just about Facebook groups. Whilst I’ve only ever run a client/student-only Facebook group, nearly everything I’ll be teaching is transferable to other platforms such as Slack or Circle.

I hear this all the time! Don’t overthink this. The success you have will be around how you show up and engage with your folks, not some weird perfect number some lady on the internet (me) tells you to have.

I'm Michelle Pontvert, or Pontvert if the French accent is too tricky, and I'm a Squarespace website designer. I work with service providers and course creators to create and uplevel their websites. 

I created my client and student only Facebook group about nine months ago, as part of expanding my business into some more DIY resources. It has been a really lovely way to basically continue to engage my audience beyond just my email list. But I also sort of subsequently found it a really nice way to continue supporting clients after they've purchased something from me. 

I've seen sort of nice uptick of people continuing to engage and swirl around in my world and purchase other offers. I think sort of nurturing them in that slightly more close contact way that the client/student-only group provides has been a big part of seeing that change. 

I also found this a really helpful little bonus thing to add to add a bit more value to create a little bit more perceived value in my offerings. And, particularly as I've been working on growing my audience participating in summits and bundles, it's been a really lovely way to engage that audience who've technically joined my world for free, but with a product that normally would be paid. And having that slightly closer knit community has really helped build that audience into something a bit more real and a little bit more engaged. So I've really loved it from that perspective. 

Over the nine months, I've grown my group to be about 180 people. And it's a mix of people from high ticket offers, medium, and then people who've joined from being part of summits and bundles and things. And it's something I'm really glad I added to my business. I was a bit nervous at first that I was going to create this new source of work to maintain this group and have to be constantly in there engaging, creating a bunch of extra content. But I've actually found, thanks to Lizzy's course, there's a lot of really low effort ways to still feel engaged and still create engagement within that group that don't require me to create a whole bunch of extra content. Definitely a side of repurposing anything I'm creating for a blog or a podcast or my other posts that I'm creating content, and then go either get deeper, offer another bit of insight and then create some more engaging conversation-starting posts. So that's been a pleasant surprise that it was actually not that high maintenance of a thing to add, and I think the value from that group is well worth the extra effort. So I definitely encourage particularly if you're concerned about time investment and energy investment in creating a client/student-only group - it's easier than you think. And thanks to Lizzy's approach, I think it is something that definitely pays off.
